Nominations should be for an individual who has either used technology to address specific social needs or campaigned on issues relating to the inclusion of all society in technology advances.

Technology Journalist Award

This award focuses on the media aspects of the IIA environment in Ireland. The award recognises the importance of journalists in Ireland in educating, informing and challenging organisations to ensure that our use of technology is optimised to the benefit of business and society as a whole. It is open to all journalists who write for recognised publications in online, e-mail, print, broadcast, trade or national media.

Nominations should be for a journalist who has consistently provided balanced and informed commentary and insight, demonstrated a clear understanding of the issues facing the Internet sector and acted as an authoritative voice for commenting on industry issues.

Innovation Award

The IIA innovation award was introduced to recognise that the convergence of technology and business ideas can create a specific new perspective on how business and administration in Ireland is conducted.

Nominations should be for an individual who have developed a new technology or new use of an existing technology in an innovative way. In addition, the innovation should have a commercial aspect to it and have resulted in a new set of customers attracted to the nominated person's business.

E-government Award

The IIA believes that eGovernment is a fundamental application of technology that can greatly build confidence with Irish business and society. This award will be presented to an individual within the eGovernment sector who has driven forward projects that will enhance interaction between government services and the general public.

Nominations should be for an individual working within Government, semi-State or Local Government, who has initiated, project managed or delivered new Internet-based technologies, programs or services that benefit the general public.

Internet Marketer

This award recognizes an individual who has excelled in the field of Internet marketing through innovative techniques and successful executed campaigns using various online marketing techniques.

Nominations should be for an individual who has excelled in the area of Internet marketing. One or more Internet marketing campaigns executed by the candidate may be taken into consideration. Campaigns will be considered based on their innovation, creativity, use of media and return on investment for the advertiser.

Web Designer Excellence

The award will be presented to a web designer that can put forward the URL of three unique samples of their own work (from three independent web sites over the previous 12 to 36 months) showing the quality of their graphical design, navigability, their accessibility and usability.

Nominations should be for an individual who is prepared to declare that the three URL samples taken from three independent web sites are their own work. The Nominations vetting process may reject any nominated web sites that are independent but are not considered unique in that they have a similar design & function.

Web Developer Excellence

This award recognises an individual web developer who has demonstrated best technical web site functionally.

This award will be for an individual who has used development techniques to integrate applications that allow the user to interact with the site. The winner will be able to demonstrate how the website's interactivity permits complete end-to-end servicing of a user's needs, and will show how the technology has thereby enhanced the customer relationship.

This award recognises an individual who has significantly contributed to the industry through education. Whether a teacher at primary, secondary or third level or an individual that teaches Internet technologies in the public or private sector. This award is also open to individuals who manage sites that deliver e learning or provide online tuition or learning resources.

Nominations should be from an individual who was the lead figure in championing a particular use of the Internet in education, had a considerable personal involvement in completing the project/programme and has an ongoing commitment to the positive use of the Internet in education.
